South Acton Master Plan

Ealing Council’s south Acton masterplan, which was approved February, aims to transform the area by supporting the growth of new and existing businesses, creating job opportunities, and providing more new homes. The plan also sets out proposed improvements to local amenities, streets, and public spaces, to help the community to thrive.

Details of how to put the plan into action will be developed further in collaboration with landowners and businesses, with the aim of stimulating growth and opportunities for residents. Key elements of the masterplan also include putting restrictions on the density and height allowed for any new buildings, and to make sure developers have to factor-in open spaces and new facilities as part of any development.

What will it include?

Key features of the new plan:

  • supporting a thriving ecosystem of 92 businesses, providing around 850 jobs
  • nurturing local enterprise by placing industrial and residential areas together, with the right infrastructure to support it
  • more than 5,000 square metres of light industrial floorspace
  • approval for more than 1,500 new homes, of which 40% (600) will be affordable
  • more than £8million in Section 106 funding, secured from developers, which will be used to carry out improvements to local streets
