Your Acton Business Networking Mornings

In 2023, Your Acton BID held 7 business breakfasts at locations within the Acton BID. The venues that hosted us were ActOne Cinema, The George & Dragon, and David Lloyd Leisure Centre. Each breakfast averaged over 35 attendees representing a range of local business owners and education providers as well as councillors and officers from Ealing Council. We partnered with West London Chambers who supported us with the logistics for marketing the event.

The breakfast mornings offer an opportunity to meet with other local business owners and learn about what we have to offer as a BID.

We also invite local businesses to present at these events and would welcome contributions from BID members to talk about what they do. Feel free to contact Natasha for more information.

REMINDER

Your Acton BID will be hosting the next upcoming breakfast networking on Friday 19th January 2024, in collaboration with the West London Chamber of Commerce.

When: Friday 19th January 2024

Time: 8:30am - 10:30am

Where: David Lloyds, East Acton Lane, London, W3 7HB

Pavement License

New Pavement License legislation

Details can be read here.

In brief, the £100 (Covid) pavement license expired on September 30th, 2023, regardless of when you applied.

The new pavement license will be £350 for existing license holders for a period specified by the local authority up to a maximum of two years.
For new pavement licence applications, the fee is £500 for a period specified by the local authority.

The council website still needs to be updated, but the concern is whether the yearly charge will be maintained or changed to monthly or quarterly.

*Please note that the council website is not updated with new price at the moment, but the application form and process is still the same. All supported documents will need to be emailed to StreetTrading@ealing.gov.uk.

HSBC Joining The Banking Hub

Your Acton BID is pleased to share that HSBC will have representation at Acton Banking Hub, located in Oaks Shopping Centre, every Thursday from 25th January 2024.

Banking Hubs are dedicated places where communities can access everyday personal and business banking services, such as withdrawing and depositing cash easily, or paying in cheques, over the counter.

Hubs also offer a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own Banking provider about more complicated banking issues. Hubs ensures small towns and communities have the ability to access their cash and also in person banking – especially those most vulnerable.
