Your Acton BID calls out BID businesses to present at our networking mornings. This is an excellent opportunity to talk about your business, gain business, and network with companies within the local community, members of the West London Chambers of Commerce, and the local authorities.

Call Out for local events and activities: Experience Ealing

Ealing Council and Ealing’s High Streets Task Force are inviting local event organisers to submit proposals to deliver year-round, family-friendly events and activities across one or more of Ealing’s 14 High Streets and Town Centres.

Applications are invited for events and activities to be delivered between April 2024 to March 2025.

Selected organisations will be awarded with grants of up to £5,000 for the delivery of each event.

Deadline for applications: 5pm on Monday 8th April 2024

Need Help Growing Your Business

Accelerate Ealing are offering free masterclass sessions, bespoke one-to-one support, networking with peers and ongoing monitoring to boost business sales and marketing functions. To provide this for free, the council has secured funding from UK Government to support job creation and growth.

To be eligible to apply, your business must be based in Ealing, have traded for at least three years and turn over no more than £ 50 million.

Beauty Salon Licence expires March 31st

Anyone who carries out massage or special treatments in Ealing must be licensed by Ealing Council. All licences run for a maximum of 12 months and expire on 31 March 2024. All businesses that presently have a licence must renew it every year before April 1st.

If you exceed the deadline, you must pay additional fees. Carrying out these activities without an appropriate licence is an offence. For more information, click here.

Business Rates

At the Autumn Statement on November 22nd 2023, the Chancellor announced the RHL (Retail, Hospitality & Leisure) grants would be extended. The amount of government-funded relief available for each property under this scheme is 75%, per chargeable day, of the chargeable amount. 01-04-24 to 31-03-25

Easter Bunny Trail is back!

Looking for something fun to do during the Easter break? Following last year's success, we have decided to bring the fun back with the Easter Bunny Trail! The game starts March 20th until April 7th!

We have hidden 25 wooden bunnies around town inside our brilliant BID businesses. For an EXTRA entry into the hamper draw, snap a photo of you doing the trail and post it to social media, tagging us at @YourActonBID and #YourActonEaster!

 

Your Acton BID and MLB monthly achievements: February 

For the month of February, the Acton BID reported various issues such as:

20 issues of fly tipping incidents.

10 counts of graffiti on business shop fronts and street furniture.

2 other types of incidents, including streets not clean, pavement issues and abandoned bicycles.

 

My Local Bobby team has attended various incidents which includes:

2 incidents related to beggars.

3 incidents related to Antisocial behaviours (i.e., street drinking, noise disturbance, etc.).

3 incidents related to crime (shoplifting and theft).

 

The MLB team has continued to assist businesses with various Shoplifting incident and dealt with Anti-social behaviours. They are continuing to work with the Met Police and the Safer Neighbourhood team to gather intel and provide information on people of interest in Acton. 

The BID Team have invested in new sim-card radios that are linked to 20 different businesses in Acton, My Local Bobby, MET Police and Ealing Council CCTV to help prevent crime and increase communication to deter the crime from happening.
