The South Acton ward panel would like to give you the opportunity; residents and business owners who live and/or work in South Acton to apply to become a member. The purpose of the neighbourhood panel is to agree a realistic and achievable course of action to address the issues raised by the local community.

Acton BID has teamed up with Highfields E-learning to provide FREE accredited training courses.  The courses are provided face to face and online. Businesses can sign up their employees to attend  the courses which can be completed in their own time. The courses currently available online are:

West London Waste Authority and Ealing Council are transforming how we reduce and reuse. A new re-use and repair site is opening in Acton 2024. It’s a space for residents to repair, reuse and recycle electronics, bicycles, furniture, clothes, and lots more. An innovative approach to reduce waste and re-use.

Do you want to organise a special event for Acton? This is for you! Ealing Council and Ealing’s High Streets Task Force are inviting local event organisers to submit proposals to deliver year-round family-friendly events and activities across one or more of Ealing’s 13 High Streets and Town Centres.

Applications are invited for event and activities to be delivered between November 2023 and March 2025. Selected organisations will be awarded with grants for the delivery of each event.

For the months of October, the Acton BID reported various issues such as: 

• Over 15 issues of fly tipping incidents. 
• __ counts of graffiti on business shop fronts and street furniture. 
• 1 other types of incidents, including streets not clean, pavement issues and abandoned bicycles. 

My Local Bobby team has attended various incidents which includes: 

• 12 incidents related to beggars. 
• 3 incidents related to Antisocial behaviours (i.e., street drinking, noise disturbance, etc.). 
• 18 incidents related to crime (shoplifting and theft). 

The MLB team has continued to assist businesses with various Shoplifting incident and dealt with Anti-social behaviours. They are continuing to work with the Met Police and the Safer Neighbourhood team to gather intel and provide information on people of interest in Acton.  

In October, the Acton Bid have teamed up with Insight 6 to help businesses in Acton step up their game and create a thriving atmosphere for staff and customers. We have initiated a Mystery Shopper that will be visiting 50 selected businesses to review their customer service. We also have a newest team member of the Acton BID, Na’quelle! She will be the new Business Officer and has started working for the BID in October. Make sure you say hi next time you see her visiting businesses in Acton!
