Christmas Is Just Around The Corner

What an amazing turn out! Hundreds of people gathered in Acton to enjoy The Christmas Market. The Mayor of Ealing, Hitesh Tailor lit up Acton Town, as the Mayor turned on the Christmas lights ✨

Our MP Dr Rupa Haq opened the stage for performances from Ark Priory Primary School, Elevate Arts, Lunar Academy from Cody Studios.

The Christmas Market and Lights Switch On Event was magical ✨ The performances were out of this world, and everyone indulged in the festive fun. Could you feel the Christmas love because we could!

And while we wait until next year rolls around, we wanted to show off some of the sparkle and shine from this year’s event please follow our instagram and twitter.

We’d like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who showed up, took part, and supported - having YOU helped us make this year magical for all who attended, especially when watching families, friends & neighbours enjoy themselves. You helped make it another special year.

Pavement License

New Pavement License legislation

Details can be read here.

In brief, the £100 (Covid) pavement license expired on September 30th, 2023, regardless of when you applied.

The new pavement license will be £350 for existing license holders for a period specified by the local authority up to a maximum of two years.
For new pavement licence applications, the fee is £500 for a period specified by the local authority.

The council website still needs to be updated, but the concern is whether the yearly charge will be maintained or changed to monthly or quarterly.

*Please note that the council website is not updated with new price at the moment, but the application form and process is still the same. All supported documents will need to be emailed to StreetTrading@ealing.gov.uk.

Empty Commercial Property legislation.

Details can be read here.

A local authority may arrange for a rental auction to be carried out regarding qualifying empty high-street premises. The detail is complex and quite concerning if rental auctions will become the benchmarks for the curated offer on the High Street.
