Join us for our upcoming breakfast networking!

After the summer holidays, we are officially resuming our Breakfast networking events in September!

Your Acton BID will be hosting the next upcoming breakfast networking on Friday 22nd September, in collaboration with the West London Chamber of Commerce, at David Lloyd gym. Tea, coffee, and a light breakfast will be available during the networking.

When: Friday, September 22nd at 08:30 to 10:30

Where: David Lloyd Acton Park (Adult Lounge area), East Acton Ln, London W3 7HB

*Parking will be available on site, but please register your vehicle at the reception upon arrival.

Accredited training courses now available online

Your Acton BID, with Highfield E-Learning, is now providing FREE accredited training courses ONLINE for BID members! Businesses can now sign up their employees to obtain their training online in which they will be able to complete in their own time. The courses available online are Fire Marshall and Health and Safety.

In person training is still available and the upcoming courses will be in the fall 2023. More information will be provided soon once the dates are confirmed.

Upcoming South Acton masterplan stakeholder workshop

South Acton businesses are invited to the upcoming stakeholder workshop for the South Acton industrial masterplan on 22nd September.

This workshop will be an opportunity to feedback and discuss the draft masterplan report and viability work before the masterplan is completed. The team plans to share the draft report with the stakeholders by Friday 15th September. 

When: Friday 22 September, from 10:00 – 12:30 

Location: Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Rd, W5 2BY

*Arrive at reception on Longfield Ave by 10:00 to be taken to 5th floor boardroom

Security meetings

Your Acton BID with the Met Police organise the PubWatch and ShopWatch security meetings for the local pubs and businesses in Acton. This partnership increases communication within the pubs and businesses to pre-empt crime and anti-social behaviour in their premises.

  • Next ShopWatch meeting: Wednesday September 27th 2023, at 11am (every last Wednesday of the month) at the ActOne Cinema, High Street, W3 6NA.
  • Next PubWatch meeting: Thursday September 28th 2023, at 11 am  (Last Thursday on every second month) at the George and Dragon Pub, 183 High Street, W3 9DJ.

All businesses are welcome to attend the meetings. If you have any questions or would like to obtain more information about the security meetings, please contact Veronique.

 
Your BID Services
Free and discounted pest control!

Your Acton BID, in partnership with Vergo, will provide free and discounted pest control against mice & rats for BID members.

The basic cost of this service is £206.80 per business per year – which is offered FREE through your Acton BID levy. Due to the different requirements needed for Acton Park and South Acton Industrial Estate, any pest control procured through the Vergo/Acton BID Partnership will include a 20% discount.

Welcome to Abdullah!

A big welcome to Abdullah, he is the new My Local Bobby (MLB) officer dedicated to the Acton BID. Abdullah has a lot of experience in security and has started to patrol the Acton area in the last weeks. Make sure to say hi when you see him out and about. Abdullah and Ayoub will be the two main bobbies for Acton.

Your Acton BID and MLB monthly achievements: August

For the months of August, the Acton BID reported various issues such as:

  • Over 27 issues of fly tipping incidents.
  • 21 counts of graffiti on business shop fronts and street furniture.
  • 3 other types of incidents, including streets not clean, pavement issues and abandoned bicycles.

My Local Bobby team has attended various incidents which includes:

  • 16  incidents related to beggars.
  • 17 incidents related to Antisocial behaviours (i.e., street drinking, noise disturbance, etc.).
  • 8 incidents related to crime (shoplifting and theft).

The MLB team as been keeping busy during the month of August assisting businesses with various Shoplifting offences and reducing any Anti-Social Behaviours around the town centre.

Help us maintain our flower beds in the South Acton industrial estate!

In the last month, we have been working away on the South Acton Walkway Project. We have added more trees, benches and we will be doing our fall upkeep in October which will consist of completing the fence, strimming and bulb planting.

We however need your help! If you have a few minutes, please help us maintain our flower beds by watering the new trees or litter pick the rubbish. It is simple, we have all the equipment ready for you accessible from the shed. Send us an email at info@youractonbid.co.uk and we will give you the access code. You can use the water canister to fill from our water tank or use gloves and litter pickers to pick up the rubbish inside and around the beds.

Thank you in advance to locals and businesses alike for being involved and keeping the South Acton walkway brighter and cleaner!
