Your Acton BID has entered into a partnership with Terminix Pest Control to provide FREE or DISCOUNTED pest control against mice & rats for BID members.

You’ll benefit from:

• A highly experienced, knowledgeable well trained and motivated technician.
• A quick and FREE of charge response to call outs for mice and rats.
• Information and advice on how businesses can help themselves to prevent or reduce pest infestation.

The basic cost of this service is £172 per business per year – which is offered FREE through your Acton BID levy. Due to the different requirements needed for Acton Park and South Acton Industrial Estate, any pest control procured through the Terminix/Acton BID Partnership will include a 20% discount. If you are interested to take part in this scheme, please contact Natasha!

Your Acton BID is working with Aid Training to provide FREE accredited training courses for BID members. The training is now available for accredited courses and only a few spots available for Health and Safety in the Workplace and Level 2 Food Hygiene. To book your course, click here!

We have been working with Place Support Partnership (PSP) by offering all businesses within the BID area free sessions with cost-saving experts. PSP helps reduce business costs by reviewing your bills and identifying where savings can be made. It is a free service to all Your Acton BID members.

Enforcement officers are currently checking all businesses if they have their Waste Transfer Notices (WTN).

Businesses are obliged by law, section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 to evidence how they get rid of their business waste. Evidence is achieved by either using a commercial waste company like Biffa or First Mile or using a council commercial waste site, paying for waste disposed of, and retaining the receipts as proof of payment and disposal.

Ealing council needs your views on Arts and Culture! the council is developing a cultural manifesto and renewal plan that develops the arts, culture and heritage offer with a clear focus and direction for both the council and Ealing’s creative sector. 

To inform the manifesto, the Culture Task Group is looking for local residents, businesses and organisations to feedback their views. Their Arts and Culture survey is now live! Click here for more information on the council’s website.

Ealing Council is working with University of West London’s Fresh Minds for Business to launch Greener Horizons. This is a programme for up to 200 micro-businesses to understand, measure and reduce their carbon footprint.

Small local businesses are invited to track and record their carbon emissions using the free carbon emissions calculator tool and make positive changes to the environment through recommendations made by Fresh Minds for Business. To register your interest in this exciting opportunity, please email businessenergy@ealing.gov.uk.

Your Acton BID and Acton Met Police have rolled out Operation Onyx, an initiative that highlights the awareness surrounding Personal Safety and Protection. Everyone deserves to feel safe in our town, but if you're ever feeling unease, we've got something for you. The initiative gives you access to a FREE personal safety alarm. No questions asked.

Hey Acton! Following on from the World Café event held last year, the Metropolitan police have made £28,000 available to community groups in Acton to help us reimagine the area!

They are looking for residents and young people to get involved in the planning process and would like to invite you to come along to the planning event on 30th July where we will shape the criteria for how this fund should be spent. £30 will be given to all young people that contribute to the process.

This year, Your Acton BID has entered London in Bloom as we are working on improving our local environment. London in Bloom is about celebrating and recognising the passion Londoners have for greening our Capital city.

It is not all about being judged for our hanging baskets, planters, and the flower beds, but also working with community groups such as Cultivate London and Rewilding Acton. Volunteers have helped us maintain the flower beds in the South Acton estate as well as plant new flowers in the bike planters in front of Arch Climbing Wall and beside the Windmill Pub on High Street. Stay tuned as the results will be shared in September.
