Plans for a new London Overground route connecting West and North-west London have hit a major milestone, with the Mayor of London and local boroughs, including Ealing, committing £6.65 million to the project’s next phase. This funding will support design and consultation work ahead of a potential construction start in 2027.
By utilising existing tracks, this line will link Acton directly to key hubs like Brent Cross, Hounslow, and the future Old Oak & OPDC, providing a connection to HS2 and the Elizabeth Line.
Once operational, the fully accessible route is expected to generate £300 million in economic benefits, supporting thousands of new homes and jobs while boosting local footfall.
