What does Revaluation mean for my business?

What is being updated?
The Valuation office Agency (VOA) is re-evaluating the rateable value of all business premises and relevant multipliers. The new figures will be announced in 26th November 2025.

When will the change happen?
The new rateable value of businesses and related multipliers will come into effect from 1st April 2026, impacting the 2026/27 tax year.

How does my rateable value affect my business?
The rateable value of a business is used to calculate business rates and other contributions such as BID levy.

What do business rates and BID levy pay for?
Business rates and BID levy are separate payments made by businesses. Business rates are collected by the council to fund infrastructure and some services.
BID Levy is used to support and promote businesses with key projects and services within a specific geographical area.
