London in Bloom

This year, Your Acton BID has entered London in Bloom as we are working on improving our local environment.

What exactly is London in Bloom? London in Bloom is our local region of Britain in Bloom. It’s a competition that gardens, community groups, and businesses can take part in by encouraging them to improve their landscape, environment, and engagement. Groups are assessed for their achievements in three core pillars: Horticultural Excellence; Environmental Responsibility; and Community Participation. London in Bloom is about celebrating and recognising the passion Londoners have for greening our Capital city.

It is not all about being judged for our hanging baskets, planters, and the flower beds, but also working with community groups such as Cultivate London and Rewilding Acton. Volunteers have helped us maintain the flower beds in the South Acton estate as well as plant new flowers in the bike planters in front of Arch Climbing Wall and beside the Windmill Pub on High Street. Stay tuned as the results will be shared in September.
