New ReActon Mural and South Acton Mosaic

South Acton Station New Mosaic Roundel & ReActon Community Mural

The ReActon mural on Stirling Road (W3 8DJ) is officially coming to life to promote the circular economy, recycling, and waste reduction across Ealing. Designed by talented University of West London (UWL) students who won a graphic design competition earlier this year, the artwork dynamically celebrates local repair and refill activities.

The final piece also incorporates imaginative toy-swap illustrations contributed by local primary pupils Carter, Kaja, Mary, Mia, and Zosia from Our Lady of the Visitation, creating an inspiring permanent landmark that encourages sustainability and community.

With support from @london_shop_window_art_mural, painting has started and the finished work with be unveiled soon!

A vibrant new mosaic mural has been permanently installed at the entrance of South Acton London Overground station, celebrating the area’s rich heritage and its position on the Mildmay line.

Created entirely by local residents through workshops led by artist Maud Milton and her team at Artyface, every tile reflects the neighbourhood’s past and present. The collaborative artwork features nods to the NHS, local cultural touchstones like “Soapsuds Island” and Only Fools and Horses, and Mildmay Hospital’s historic, pioneering support for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Funded through social value and community investment commitments by First Rail London, housebuilder Vistry, and Artyface, the project emphasises local ownership. Project partners noted that the mural beautifully transforms individual memories into a collective artwork, serving as a permanent visual record of South Acton’s identity.
