New rates relief announced for the hospitality sector

New business rates relief scheme for the hospitality sector
Pubs, clubs, and live music venues across England are set to receive a welcome 20% cut in business rates starting April 2027, offering a much needed boost to the local hospitality sector.
Downing Street estimates that the £100m scheme could save a typical pub around £1,100 in tax next year, helping to support independent venues and keep community hubs thriving.
The initiative will be funded by a review of tax reliefs currently given to businesses such as vape shops, though the very largest live music venues will be excluded from the discount.
More details to be announced in the Autumn budget.
