Your Acton BID have partnered with Walkers to bring a dedicated cleaning service to the streets of Acton!
You’re sure to spot our Walkers cleaning ranger around town in the BID branded Goupil buggy.
They will be on duty 5 days a week, providing a street cleaning service for BID business, including collecting open waste and jet washing.
The Goupil buggy is a fully electric utility vehicle, designed for city centres and industrial sites, and ideally suited for watering and waste collection.
Walkers are a Planet Mark Certified provider, with a pledge to continuous improvement, transparency, and accountability in reducing environmental impact. This includes low carbon emission and sustainable cleaning solutions, ensuring both a professional and eco-friendly service in Acton.
In addition to the cleaning patrol, BID businesses will also be able to request jet wash and other buggy services by emailing us.
Please note that this cleaning system has been created by Acton BID to supplement not replace services provided by Ealing Council.

Meet Rob
Acton BID Ranger
Rob is on duty 5 days / week helping to make Acton cleaner and more pleasant for businesses and visitors.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I look after all the different areas in the BID by litter picking, jet washing, reporting fly tips and helping business owners by making sure the area outside businesses looks its best. It can be quite relaxing, especially when it comes to the planters, as I do enjoy gardening in my spare time.
What do you enjoy most about being a Ranger?
I’ve always loved being outside, so getting to work outdoors is a huge perk of the job for me. It’s rewarding to take ownership of an area, put the hard work in, and step back to see it looking clean and fresh. Knowing you’ve made a visible difference to the local environment is a great feeling.
What’s one thing residents or businesses might not realise you do on your patrol?
People see me out and about, but they might not realise the level of reporting that goes on behind the scenes. A big part of my day is ensuring the pavements and public spaces look presentable. While doing that, I’m constantly surveying the area to spot and report specific issues directly to the Bobbies on patrol or to the BID team. By acting as the eyes and ears of the street, we can resolve problems quickly, which makes us an efficient team
What does ‘Acton in Action’ mean to you?
It means physically doing something to make Acton better! Anyone can notice a problem, but if you don’t speak up, nothing improves. ‘Acton in Action’ is about refusing to just stand by and actively doing the work today to create a better environment for everyone.
