Your Acton BID Yearly Achievements
The Acton BID has a mandate to make the area a cleaner and safer place to do business and to ensure it is more welcoming for visitors. In the last year, we accomplished various projects and initiatives that have followed our mandate. If we may, we would love to take this time to look back over some of our achievements that conquered 2022.
We installed:
- Two new CCTV cameras on The Mount and on Roslin Rd in South Acton estate.
- Flower baskets and bike racks throughout the town centre
- Revamp and replanted the flower beds in the South Acton estate walkway.
- Revamp and added the brand-new installation on the Acton Roundabout
- New visitor boards with an illustrated town centre map
Launched:
- My Local Bobby team responsible to patrol our BID area
- Security radios for business to help pre-empt crime in the area
- Free accredited training courses for businesses
- Discounted and free Pest Control for businesses
- Free hawking service on the Mount to reduce the pigeon infestation
- Personal safety alarms through Operation Onyx
- The Easter Bunny Trail
- The Christmas Reindeer Trail
- A centre-wide street clean
Hosted:
- Business Health Clinic with Place Support Partnership
- The Spring Celebration
- The Christmas lights switch on and market
- Various security meetings through ShopWatch and PubWatch
Supported:
- The second screen at the ActOne Cinema
- Free businesses day-to-day savings with Place Support Partnership.
