Your Acton BID is working with Aid Training to provide FREE accredited training courses for BID members. The training is now available for accredited courses of Fire Marshall, Emergency First Aid, Health and Safety in the Workplace and Level 2 Food Hygiene. Level 2 Food Hygiene 

Food safety is essential to any business that is dealing with the sale or production of drinks to the public. Food safety and hygiene controls are paramount in preventing anyone from becoming another statistic. Designed for anyone working in a catering, manufacturing or retail setting where food is prepared, cooked and handled. The one-day courses are designed to give all food handlers an appreciation of the fundamentals of good food hygiene.

Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work   

This course can be adapted to suit the audience and is ideal for lower-risk businesses, in line with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. The course includes both theory and practical sessions, in a relaxed atmosphere, aimed to boost a delegate’s confidence.

Principles of Manual Handling Course

 This Manual Handling training course will teach your staff the skills and knowledge to become a manual handling trainer at your premises. Meet the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 legislation. The course will cover the following:

  • The process of manual handling in the workplace
  • Manual handling injuries and the activities which cause them
  • Manual handling assessment and control options
  • Responsibilities imposed by the Manual Handling Operations Regulations

Mental Health First Aid 

Mental Health First Aid provides learners with the knowledge to recognise a range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. This course is suitable for those who want to gain a greater awareness of mental health, to detect early symptoms of common mental illnesses and the skills to support their own and others’ positive wellbeing.

Fire Safety Training 

This course is tailored to the needs of the prospective Fire Marshal and typically runs for four hours. This course teaches basic fire safety awareness as it applies to the workplace. This course complies with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
